Located close to St Anne, 18 km from Pointe-à-Pitre on the Grande-Terre part of the island of Guadeloupe and on 44 acres, along a peninsula dotted with palm trees, opens onto one of the finest beaches in the French West Indies. The guest rooms tend to be small, but have good beds. All but 10 units have twin beds; the others have queen-size beds. Tiled and shower only bathrooms are compact all with hairdryer, air conditioning, coffee-maker, ironing kit, radio/CD player, telephone, TV and safety deposit box. The building known as Marie Galante contains the resort's largest and most comfortable rooms, each with a terrace or veranda, costing about 25% more than the smaller, bland standard rooms. Children are welcome, but there are few, if any, programs catering to their needs, and there is no babysitting services on the Hotel. Consequently, this resort tends to attract couples and adult singles. In 2001, the resort added an annex; La Fête containing only single rooms, a boon for solo travelers. The meals here are nothing if not generous. The breakfast and lunch buffet tables groan with French, Continental, and Creole food. Dinner is served in the main dining room or in the candlelit, more romantic annex restaurant beside the sea. There's live entertainment several nights a week, sometimes a Brazilian inspired samba band and once a week, usually on Monday, the Guadeloupe folklore ballet, Les Ballets Guadeloupéans.
